Default played out with my turntables last night

and needless to say my needles were not excited about the bass. they didnt really skip but my scope on my traktor control vinyl was going absolutely nutty. any advice on how to fight this? any foam you swear by or anything?

    Floats and cushions help.

In a few clubs I've seen stone slaps placed on soft rubber-balls or halfed tennisballs.

Personally, this why I gave up on DVS. Club turntables / environments are too temperamental.

You need to calibrate the tonearm to the weight of your needle and this doesnt flipping the weight around and pushing all the way in either. Also what helps is having a good pair of Cartridge that have weight to them, and not some of flimsy Numarks I have seen.

Follow the instructions in the video, I do have to add a few things, you should know the the Height and weight of your cartridge. This info should be the spec sheet included with your cartridge when you purchased it.

Once you this you can set the Height of the tonearm to match the Cartridge height. After you balance the arm to zero, set the weight on the tonearm to the same as what your cartridge is. I usually add about 0.5 to 1 gram more weight, so I know its going to stick to the groove without digging in too much.

Check out this video I have seen.

Freefloats and halved tennis balls work great.

Tennis balls cut about 15dB of bass in my experience, and FreeFloats almost take it below the noise floor of the needle. Just don't try to scratch with your table on free floats.
