    Default Need studio headphones!

I'm already super happy with my original Sony MDR-V700's for DJ'ing (had 'em 10 years and still going strong!) - but they're uncomfortable for extended studio sessions.

Looking to get a cheap pair of COMFY studio headphones to do the majority of my studio work on. I'll stick to the Sony's for DJ'ing, and maybe for doing final mixdowns. They sound fantastic.

I'm looking at these (just after a bargain pair of comfy can's):

Sony MDR-V150 Stereo Studio DJ Monitor Headphones
£7.95 - bargain! And they look comfy...
[EDIT: These are off the list after feedback from IvanPK. He siad they clamp TIGHT. ]

Samson CH70 Studio Monitor Reference Headphone

£15.50 - little more expensive. But I'd rather buy cans that aren't fakes...

Grunge Headphones - Grey: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31EPY8b8q1L.@@AMEPARAM@@31EPY8b8q1L[/ame]
£19.99 - look light and comfy...

GENUINE SONY MDR-v300 DJ STEREO STUDIO MP3 HEADPHONES
£31.95 - quite like the look of these. Are they really genuine Sony's, though?
[EDIT: I've read some reviews - sounds like these clamp on quite tight. No thanks].

    Behringer HPS5000 Studio headphone
£33.40 - these look DOUBLE comfy...
[EDIT: I've read some interesting reviews on these. Sounds like you need to bend 'em about a bit to get 'em to fit nicely. Quite happy to do that. Another review said that these would only fit people with wide heads. Perfect.
[EDIT2: Arrived today - they are VERY uncomfortable. They clamp HARD. Sending 'em back].

Anybody tried any of these cans??? Right now the MDR-V150's are way out in the lead...

i honestly wouldn't go cheap with studio headphones. you definitely get what you pay for.

if you're looking to spend a little more money, try the Audio Technica ATH-M50.

if you're not, you could try the sennheiser hd280's.

Both of those look a bit big for extended studio sessions. Looking for more of a lightweight style of 'phones...

They are over the ear headphones, which are the most comfortable. I've owned a set of HD280s for about 6 years now which I use for personal listening and doing some light work in Ableton Live on late nights. Longest I've had them on without taking them off was around 8 hours.

Other than that, you could try these: Grado Prestige SR 60

Looking for a cheap(ish) pair. Realise that sound quality will suffer - but the new cans are really only for arranging (where sound quality ain't that important). The mix down will be done through my studio speakers (or the MDR-V700's).

Out of the ones you have listed. I would have to pick the Sennheiser HD 202's.

That company knows how to make some good sounding headphones.

Hey thanks - you liked them? How comfortable are they (weight?), and how good is the sound?

Allen & Heath XONE XD-40 Headphones
£79.00 - these are at the absolute limit of my budget. Anyone used 'em? How comfy are they?
