Default Mixers with USB - What do they do?

I'm just wondering what having usb ON a regular mixer allows you to do with software or whatever. I just noticed a lot of mixers at NAMM have that as a spec.

Check the specs of the soundcard built into the mixer. Most of the times it's just a 2 channel (= 1 stereo channel) soundcard to record your mixes on your computer. For external mixing you'll probably need another soundcard.
    Check out my work!
