Default My water-logged controller and why I love Numark fo' life

Basically, the other day I noticed that my Numark Mixtrack was covered in water. I was under the assumption that my cat had come in from the snow and cuddled up on it. I picked it up, and the controller weighed about twice the weight it normally does. I looked up and noticed the ceiling was leaking water. I brought the Mixtrack in to the bathroom and tilted it. Water POURED out of every knob, slider, button, etc. I thought I was doomed forever and my heart sank.

I took apart the controller and even more water came out. I let it air dry near the woodstove for 24 hours. Plugged it in a few moments ago and every single button functions perfectly!!!!!

Yeah you are normally okay with most electronics unless you try to switch them on.

yeah you dried it out, so no worries.

you have to remember, they actually use a shitload of water in electronics manufacturing.

i actually clean my keyboards by putting them in the dishwasher and then letting them dry out for 2 days.

That's true, I think I was just so shocked by the overall horror of seeing water pouring out of it. I wasn't in the right state of mind to be rational.

    DISCLAIMER:

to anyone reading this, despite what has been said above, water can still very severely fuck up your electronics. particularly if you try to use them when wet, but also in general. don't try and save money by washing your laptop during your morning shower.

Anyone who's seen the episode of peep show called 'the bad thing' will be well aware of this.
