    Practice.....

That's the only way you can ever be sure of something and be confident on it.

I know for a fact that I can mix at 3am after just being woken up with a HUGE hangover.

Its like riding a bike for me now....

But yeah....i do get the ....SHIT....Its been a while....Can I still do it like I did before?

Once I am up there....i zone out....and there i mix!

    So yeah...practice mate!

Its not your girlfriend, you can just ignore it when it pisses you off.

    LOL...
ignoring my decks means i just want them more. Ignoring my g/f means i dont eat.
Its a cave man instinct for food.

I never ignored my gf in the old days, maybe thats why I'm married now

I think that mixing is just like girlfriends. If you love it, you will never be able to ignore it, not even when she pisses you off.

The better thing to do is to change your subject and try new things with her, but don't leave her all alone if you want to love her forever like I did with mine

    The same is with DJing

Its the BEST thing to do!

They first think fuckall of it.

    Then they get MAD!

Then they start trying to play games....

Then they get real mad..REAL mad....

    Then they cry....

    That's how it works.....

I suppose it only really applies to my fellow manual beatmatchers..
This used to happen to me alot back in the back circa 2001. Back then I was practing till my ear would bleed. After a while I just couldnt get a beat matched and everything sounded like shit. So id take break for a day or two smoke a ton of weed and then hit the decks again, renewed and ready.

Its just like poker, somtimes U run so bad u just gotta take a day or two off or you end up donking off your bankroll.

Its counter productive to 'always' battle against it.

Stay away for however long it takes for you to really really want to get on the decks again.
You will soon get your "mojo" back as Austin Powers would say.
never heard truer words. i hit a wall a week before christmas and hadnt touched traktor (delved completely into ableton) then was downloading some new music and threw em into traktor and had a blast.

sometimes thats all you need to do. if only you could put your girlfriend/wife on a shelf for a few hours/days/weeks/months/years if it was really grating on your nerves and come right back to her when you feel the need.
