I have had AV40's for about a year now. Sound pretty good, and work well in a bedroom setting. I have also dropped them several times onto hard ground and they still work great. I want to upgrade to some rockit 8's though in a few months.

Buying speakers is like buying a car. What do you intend on doing with them (speakers) will determin how much money you spend and do you get the bells and whistles with it? Do you buy powered or passive? Give us a bit more detail of what you're looking to do.

i paid 220 euro's (on sale) but they are far louder than the KrKs, M-audio,Alesis etc
(all of which my mates have-and there raging they spent more on there speakers than i did)

also note, the speakers stands ARE NOT included...

Basically i'm just looking for some decent speakers to go with my s4 setup. I just use a cheapish hifi setup at the moment and i'm getting sick of the muddy sound. They don't need ground shaking bass just a nice, clear sound for all types of house and techno. I will also be using them for films, games and general pc use. I may also use them for small parties. I don't really want to purchase an amp and i'm only looking to spend around £100.
