Great idea if it is responsive enough. You would never have to map a controller again, lol.

    As long as it's multitouch.

But if it's not you couldn't do superfader effects like you can with a controller.

That image is being projected. How's that gonna work? I'm calling bullshit.

    I'm calling misinformed

in simplified terms, it's similar to the reactable. you project your image (the traktor GUI) onto a semitranlucent surface. over that surface you have a grid of infrared LEDs which produce a downward reflection when a finger is touching down on the surface. this reflection is picked up by an infrared camera underneath. the software running in the background traces the position of those reflections (referred to as "blobs") and translates them into input commands.

this may not necessarily be the exact way to achieve what we see in the video, but I believe I'm pretty close.

The reactable isn't projected, though, and you aren't dependent on the visuals to make it work.

If it does really work then it's still not practical. As you reach through the projection you create shadows in which you can't see all your controls. Try reaching for two eq knobs at once. Plus, you'd require a ceiling mount or truss for the projector along with your table. Still not buying it. Google the EnKompass System and see what comes up.

Touch screens & surface is not for everyone, not for me. I don't like the idea to look like i'm playing with virtual clits and tits without having the feel & smell
