Need help with S4 Effects

My S4's effects have never worked. No matter what the dry/wet is set to, what effects, how many, nothing.

What am I doing wrong here?

User error? Could you go into more detail? I can't really help from what you've given me. Do you have your FX banks assigned to the deck you're using?

yeah I know that's noobish but I think that may be what it is. how do you assign the FX banks to the proper deck?

when I turn any of the FX knobs, the visual on the screen responds appropriately but no sound is heard.

please read the manual..

you have to check the 4 boxes saying '1' & '2' in the mixer section to assign the FX bank..

what do you mean with "no sound is heard" no sound at all or just the dry signal without fx?

^ Yes, the dry signal without fx. I read the manual and checked the 4 boxes saying '1' and '2' in the mixer section. Still nothing!
