Oh definitely. There's tons of potential for something really entertaining. With some showmanship and a more rhythmic style of music this kind of controller would kill it in a live concert setting.
Imagine this device mounted inside of a spherical cage (like the one attached, only a bit more steampunk-ish) with him strapped into a harness at the controls. When he pulls a lever it makes a sound or launches a clip, the sphere begins rotating one direction. Same thing for each of the other controls except they make the sphere rotate in different directions. With the right light show he'd be famous in no time.
That takes fist pump to a whole new level.
