From a friend on another site...
"A scary assed fucking press conference about the failing reactor. The man giving it looks really serious and a bit scared. 3km-10km possible evacuation!"
Please spare the people of Japan another nuclear event.
"1000's thought dead. People didn't evacuate! Thought the tsunami wouldn't be that big! It was "
"They are reporting that the situation is just about under control. They are trying to attach truck batteries to keep the coolant working. :S
If it all fails, I guess meltdown is the scenario but I doubt it will get to that! No radiation leaked"
I'm confused w/ the quotation marks. Are these your words or someone else's?
From someone I talk to regularly on another site. He is a UK citizen working in Japan.
He's just posted that there are already an estimated 88,000 people missing. There is now a city of 78,000 people ablaze, he didn't say which city.
Check out the video on the front page of the NY times website, www.nytimes.com
unbelievable scenes, my heart goes out to anyone caught up in this.

My thoughts go out to all those affected by this and the other recent quakes. Lets hope the damage and loss of life is not as bad as it looks.
Seems everywhere I went this morning that this was all that was being discussed.
