    Default Kontrol x1 Encoder Funkyness

So i have 2 Kontrol x1s and one of them is working awesomely the encoders are responsive and work as they should, but on the other ones the encoders are getting kinda strange. Sometimes they wont change and sometimes they jump 2 steps. Is there anyway to fix this? something in the software? or maybe clean them? All help is much appreciated. Thanks!

2 X1 mappings on 1 port? then the controls double. just an idea.

could you explain what you mean? The right loop encoder is the wost one, it is very sparatic wile the other three work ok most of the time.

I thought the problem might be 2 or more mappings on the same time on the same in- and out-port.
Thats what I did on accident when I got my X1.
It stressed me out, that all of a sudden the browse knobs where jumping 3 rows instead of one etc.
But then it should be consistent, and always the same problem, not every knob different.
I'm sorry I cant say what your problem is then... Hope you can get it fixed soon!

Sometime, it's just a faulty encoder. It's a really common problem with those things... Sometimes a good cleanup help, however changing them is usually a better solution. In both case, you need to "open the hood" to access them anyways.

Switched knobs from the chroma caps I was using to original ones and getting the same issue on both loop size encoders (Deck A and Deck B). It feels like a mapping problem. Might try reloading the S2's map.

Seems a little better but not perfect. I use to modulate loop size rather excessively during a build but it doesn't feel quite the same.

I got this problem on most of my electronic gear/equipment including my S4 and X1. No easy cure if you're not familiar with electronic repair/maintenance. I just changed them and voilà, working like a brand new one again.
