Default Autopilot: Need a good program to play playlists well

    Background:
My old man runs a bar and wants something better than iTunes/Pandora but has no need of an in-house DJ. So he called me up.

    My Idea:
I will make traktor playlists for my dad and email them. I advised this setup for now:
Laptop, Traktor LE, sound card. (They already have the sound gear) They have an ascap license already. I will share access with the bar on their iTunes account. Talking to them about a beatport account as well...

Your Ideas? They just want a variation on the playlist each week, top40 KISSFM style....

CHEERS! (Oh yeah, I live like 1500 miles away or I'd just go in for fun and spin)
    Late 2009 MBP 2.26 8Gb RAM, Bliptronome,
    Akai MPD-24, TRAKTOR S4, Ableton Live 8

Honestly this is wicked. You need the full package though with BPMer and all to get most out of it

They can then just sort the playlist by BPM and boom

Check out media monkey. It has some cool dj functions and lots of dj type scripts. Might be a little easier to use than Traktor

Get the free virtual dj trial version, it fully functions if you only use a computer, and no controller.

Just installed it at the beachclub i work. You can put music in different folders and just copy the genres that you want to play that day/ evening in the playlist.

choose the auto mix type fade remove intro/outro and you will have a really nice free system.

You can choose shuffle and remove already played, and you will have it al covered

I've looked into a lot of options but this was a very nice one.

Or you can use drs 2006, it's a radio dj station program, but i found it to much trouble with getting al the genre's right. You can get a free trial, but on the forums they complain that the software hasn't been updated for a long time.

I would go with virtual dj.

    Another option

It would all have to be real close BPM as there's no keylock.

you could just play dj mixes.Unsure on licensing and permission or ministry of sound cds. Possibly a better idea to invest in music over software.
