8's will give you more bass and maybe be a little louder, but they'll take up a lot more room. I have some Mackie 5's and they thump just fine.

I'm not too sure on the 8's. But I run an S4 with rokit 6's and it sounds amazing in my bedroom environment. I find it as loud and bass heavy as I would want it.

If you get the 6s, use the difference in price and get a subwoofer

I have the 8s and still use a subwoofer. My neighbors love me!!

6's and a sub are going to have better low end response than two 8's by themselves by far.

Even the KRK 8's only stretch down to 45hz on the low end, and that is there max low, they really do well in the 70-200hz range.

If you really want that clean sub-low extension, a separate sub is a must.

Ive got two dual 15" full range studio monitors, and a Panasonic tube amp to power them, I just don't have a studio (bedroom) big enough to use them...

So I also have two 6" G2 Rockit's and an obscene sub for the bedroom, I don't ever run the sub any where close to its peak, but the low end is puts out is a dream...

Can't disagree with any of this.
