Starting the wiki is not the problem, getting all the information there is. Who has a general description of Controllerism?

There was one attempt, it never got the green light by wikipedia though.

Remember on wikipedia you cant use blog's as a reference - so i recommend using controllerism.com, remix magazine as references and any interveiws with moldover or ean as references.

Controllerism borrows its name from turntablism. These terms are essentially the same idea, but they revolve around different instruments. DJs who emphasize performance and approach their tools as musical instruments needed a way to differentiate themselves from DJs who just play records.
Controllerism is the art of manipulating sounds and creating music live, using computer controllers and software.

This is Moldovers definition of Controllerism. We could link to many articles like those and use the above as a description. (If moldover would be OK with "Ripping" his text.

I could not put it more clear than that...

it's wikipedia, we can rip anyone's txt that we want! haha

yeah i'd say we use remix mag, controllerism.com and we do things like cite youtube videos and such.

a lot of this will probably be citing moldover's work at first.

Also, I'd want to add that DJs across all genres use controllerism. from emulating scratching, to doing hyper complex song building in genres from hip hop to techno.

we could even cite controllerists out there. from the extreme: Moldover, Materia Prima, Ean Golde. To the slimmed down. Sander Kleinenberg, Sven Vath, Chris Leibing, Carl Cox, richie "traktor" hawtin.

I mean, i consider all of the following controllerism.

    1. A DJ who modifies the software/hardware of his or her controller beyond factory settings.
    2. A DJ who uses their controller to build upon, scratch, remix, effect, modify, or otherwise create music. (This includes something as massive as doing Moldover style music creation, all the way down to the elegant simplicity of richie hawtin's super knobs)
    3. A DJ who makes their controller from scratch (get it? scratch?)

btw...i'm kinda annoyed that wikipedia has "computer dj" and not "digital dj" computer dj seems so lame...

I think it's only against the rules if you're making your own wiki page.

You're considered an authority on controllerism, so you'd actually be the ideal candidate to start the wiki!
