@kiss-o-matic: A fellow Tokyo-ite! Glad to hear you didn't transform from "gaijin" to "byejin" when the shit hit the fan. I have to say, hanami this year was particularly enjoyable.
Ishihara can go suck balls. What the people of Tohoku need is for the rest of Japan to stimulate the economy... which means celebrating the hell out of hanami. Hell there were even ads on TV from distilleries up in Tohoku asking everyone to buy their products to help support the area. And yet he's still telling people not to celebrate. The nerve!
Might I ask where in Tokyo you're based?
Me? I'm Shibuya-kei :-P

Great pics! Have been to Japan twice but never in Spring... I always wind up there in the hot humid summer. Will probably be there again in 2012. I put up some pics the last time I was there - http://turntablepoetry.com/japan/ - you can see I was obsessed with Tsukiji market. Oh and I got to DJ there at a tiny little club called O-wa Rock Bar in Kiryu (north of Tokyo). Glad to see you guys keep the spirit alive!
lovely pics, hope you and your fam are safe.
