Copy the entire traktor folder from My Documents. This includes your collection, playlists coverart, settings etc. Its a good idea to do this regularly. Welcome to the forums by the way

I thought it just happened because it appears on those adverts that Macs run on magic but apparently not:

Are you wanting to include all of your actual music files in this backup or just the traktor settings? If just the traktor settings then take the folder Jester mentioned and burn it to a disc, if the whole music collection then pick one of the steps outlined in lethal's link. I recommend always having a an external hard drive connected to your computer and having time Machine on. It's saved my ass more than a few times. Side note, it's best to turn time machine off when running traktor at important times like gigs and what not. When I'm just messing around and what not I'll leave it on though.

On a Mac, just use Time Machine? Buy a 500gb-1tb portable drive and just use that!

If copy the NI folder in documents you should be okay. You may have to restore your favorites, but your playlists will be there.
