Default OT:Anyone from holland get in here, need help

right me and a few buddies are going to groningen, holland at the end of may

i am in madrid right now so gotta fly to Amsterdam we meeting there
now to get to groningen my friend says there is a train from the dam to groningen. from what he has found so far its gonna be 25 euro for a single (so 50 there and back)

just wondering if anyone knows the name of this train and the best way to book (if i can pre book tickets online that would be great) and if so are tickets cheaper online booked in advance

    cheers.

As far as I know, no reduced rates. Travelling from Amsterdam to Groningen will take you more than three hours.

But more importantly: Why Groningen?

Best way to book is just go to the booth where they sell tickets and ask.

(Probably go for the 'Intercity to Groningen')

Amsterdam -> Groningen will cost you 22.80 (45.60 for a retour)
and it will take ± 2.5 hour
