    Default Im stumped ):

    So I got my Mixtrack, and my DJ IO, but trying to figure out how to wire it up with rca cables is confusing me. Do I need to buy new speakers? If I want my speakers to play the music, and my headphones to cue up another song, what do I need to do? I have looked at multiple forum posts but can't find my answer. The speakers I have only have a white RCA cable going from my left speaker to main speaker, and then the little pointy in the picture. When I plug the green thing into my DJ IO it doesn't sound right and if I choose the DJ IO as ASIO in virtual dj my headphones go to #%$#.

    Thanks

    first off seems like you would need something like this ...
    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Planet-Waves-Stereo-Female-Adapter/dp/B0002E51CQ"]Amazon.com: Planet Waves 1/4 Inch Male Stereo to 1/8 Inch Female Stereo Adapter: Musical Instruments@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/3160QxZazRL.@@AMEPARAM@@3160QxZazRL[/ame]

    or if you want to use the factory cables,
    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-Stereo-Female-Adapter/dp/B000J1H4VI/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b"]Amazon.com: Cables To Go - 40645 - 3.5mm Stereo Male To 2X RCA Female Adapter: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21jhNo1ChmL.@@AMEPARAM@@21jhNo1ChmL[/ame]

    with this

    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-03170-Stereo-Coupler/dp/B00007FGUF/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_b"]Amazon.com: Cables To Go - 03170 - 3.5mm Stereo Coupler F/F: Electronics@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/214mgps0ZbL.@@AMEPARAM@@214mgps0ZbL[/ame]

    to plug your speakers to your dj/io
    plug your headphones into the other channel

    in the dj program go select the dj/io in the settings, then select channel 1 (or whatever you plugged your speakers to) for master.
    select channel 2 (or whatever your cans are connected to) and set to cue.

    if that 5.1 set comes with the three headphone jacks similar to logitechs, you may need only need this.

    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Console-Adapter-Convert-Single-Pc/dp/B0006U3ACY"]Amazon.com: Logitech 5.1 Game Console Adapter Convert Rca Plugs To A Single 1/8: Video Games@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21uswx0eHJL.@@AMEPARAM@@21uswx0eHJL[/ame]

    as i use that to connect my rca cables to the speakers

    if it comes with a single headphone jack, then you can use any of the 2 options i stated in the earlier post. option 1, plug your speakers directly into an 1/4" converter and plug that into the dj/io. or option 2, where you get rca cable to headphone adapter along with the female to female converter, so you can use the rca cables that the dj/io came with.
