Default Is there a alternate for iTunes for the following?

    Hi all

As i plan to reinstall and update my macbook pro. I was wondering if anyone knows or does this with there mac.

I want to just have my "DJ" music on the HDD for traktor. But i want to be able to have my other music on a portable HDD i can leave plugged in to listen to tracks and has my music collection on it,

Something along the lines of a winamp or something like that.

Looking to do this as i want to free up 80Gb of music etc etc...

    Thanks

    Better ideas are welcome

Cog is awesome. It's simple and efficient. No database, but it uses m3u playlists. I'd use it for that in a heartbeat if your music is even pretend organized.

By that…I mean I do use it for that. iTunes is 100% DJ stuff…listening stuff just goes into Cog.

I was going to suggest MediaMonkey, but you're on a mac...

Have you taken a look at Songbird? http://getsongbird.com/

Why don't you want to use iTunes? Did you know you can have two separate libraries with iTunes.

iirc, traktor displays off the itunes library .xml file. i assume if you were to create two libraries, youd have two separate .xml files, and you could then choose which you want in traktor prefs.

    ...iirc.
