    Default DJ hands...

    hello,

can anyone tell me what's the thing about the "dj hands"?

why most of the dj's i see (ean golden included) have the same "touch and get out" moves?

    hehehe

touch the button buttons and get the fingers of quickly like if it was hot..

here is very good example of the other end of the spectrum

Everything i touch becomes gold but i love the feeling of ruber knobs and plastic button.

it's all about physicality and working with conviction. Watch ninjas in action and you'll understand.

I do that a lot and I have no idea why.

Thinking about it it's actually quite impractical for EQ tweaking, your arm's suddenly a foot away from where it needs to be

For hitting buttons it *KINDA* makes sense. It minimises the chances of accidental double hits.

    FOR BUTTONS - I GUESS it's okay.

But, if you're gonna do it - try not to look like a dick.

All that filter twisting using your whole body is a no-no. EVERYONE that (over)does that looks like a plonker.

    EVERYONE.

You're gonna get answers about expression/musicality/connection/personality. That's all BS. EVERYONE that (over)does it looks like a plonker.

It's totally true. It never looks cool. And besides, I just want it to sound cool

I don't use my whole body, just flick my arm up off things when I'm done. No idea when or why I started doing that, but it's an automatic thing!
