Default Are novation products as good as they look ?

    All in the title really.

Are they really as good as they look to be from the videos on youtube.

I'm contimplating a big spend this summer and it may be a launchpad, a zeroSL mk II and an ultranova for producing.

The Launchpad is amazing for the price. I use mine with Ableton for productions and as a dual Midifighter, looper and hot cue trigger in Traktor.

However, for a big spend specific to producing, I'd go for the all in one APC40 probably.

Sometimes a bit plasticky feeling (launchpad, in comparison to the akai APCs) but good hardware.

I think you really cant go wrong with either.. I went for the APC because i liked the idea of knobs and faders, which the launchpad didnt even have one.

I like the Monome/Sequencer mappings for the launchpad better then i like the APC's.. If you have the money buy them both.. You can get either of then used for next to nothing.

Someone should make one so big that when you play it you end up kind of drawing a big LED picture on the monome by the end of the set. Kind of like mixing music and art in the kind of way only Neil Buchanan would!

the zero sl mkII is for knobs and faders, and tbh the launchpad will be more for performing than producing.
