Default Would this laptop run TP2+S4 for controllerism use ?

    Hi guys,

After 9 years of vinyl DJing, I'm going to get a digital setup: a KontrolS4+Midifighter or another pad controller AkaiMPDlike.
For now, my 1rst point is to buy a laptop. I'm a Windows user, and i can get a Toshiba L655 for 600€.

    Let's see the specs:

    Product Description: Toshiba Satellite L655-1JQ - Core i5 480M 2.66 GHz - 15.6" TFT

    Processor: Intel Core i5 480M / 2.66 GHz ( 2.93 GHz ) ( Dual-Core )
    RAM: 4 GB (installed) / 8 GB (max) - DDR3 SDRAM - 1066 MHz ( 2 x 2 GB )
    Hard Drive: 750 GB - Serial ATA-300 - 5400 rpm
    Display: 15.6" LED backlight TruBrite TFT 1366 x 768 ( WXGA ) - 16:9
Graphics Controller: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 HyperMemory
Video Memory: 1 GB DDR3 SDRAM

I asked the seller, he tolds me that he gets somme DPC spikes using DPC latency monitor, but i think that a little tweaking would fix it.

Can you guys told me if this laptop can run TP2 and use it "fully loaded" with effects and sample decks ? Is 4Gb RAM enough efficient for this use ? Same for i5 ?

Last but not least: did someone here uses this laptop for digital djing ?

    Thanx

There is more than enough processing power and more than enough ram.

DPC latency could be down to any number of things and usually is but sometimes isn't fixable. The only way to be sure is if somebody with the exact same SKU posts the answer.

The dilemma between Win and Apple is only about money in my case.
By the way, i'm not against Apple, but i'm a Winuser since a really long time, so tweaking is not a problem for me.

Just one question: where do you get MB at this price ?

I use a PB Easynote TK PEW 91 with less power then this one. Using this (http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31864) I can run TP2 with everything on and 4 decks without one trouble, so it really can handle the job
