    Default F@#% 4-pin

am i the only one who thinks that a 4 pin firewire would be better stuffed into the back end of a dog?

my 4 pin cable falls out and disconnects the soundcard with even the slightest nudge, or even just a touch, resulting in traktor freezing, so i have to restart my lappy to get it goin again. it happened like 4 times the other night so just ended up using the mac- mmmm 6 pin awesomeness. what a mish...

Agreed, thats why i use this -

I also have a bit of wide masking tape wrapped around it to make it a bit thicker so the card can take a bit of a pull without comming out.

its like- "yea my computer i built from scratch is awesome, but it didnt come with any screws so i had to stick it all together with modelling glue"

fuckin unacceptable... may as well rip the plug end out and just smoosh all the mires together and hope it works.

if youre gonna make a universal plug, why not make one that is secure.

    rant rant. anger anger

be thankful u dont have the m audio firewire soundcard that can fry the computers firewire and the card itself if the cord is unplugged accidently.
Maybe u can loop the cord around say ur laptop stand so that it cant pull out as easy?

Im all for the apple magnetic power cable design but for normal cables anything too secure will then break if it is pulled out causing damage to the computer.

yea i see the dilemma here. i screwed one of my usb ports/cables while in some drunken state.

and your other message-i dont use a laptop stand, i just put my laptop down on top of my p.a speakers and amp. used ductape a few times which seems to do the trick. but i dont want to have to surgicaly attach my legs every time i want to go for a walk if ya know what i mean

The best solution is the expresscard adapter, its really not that bad ive only had it fall out once or twice when doing my thing without a few layers of tape wrapped around it - now with the tape it hasnt fallen out once.

Theres no miricle solution to fixing 4pin firewire.

such is life... dont they test things like this?(whoever they may be)

guess the moral of the story is, if you buy 4 pin, you may as well cut off your dick and throw it in a creek.

the problem is that 4 pin was designed by monkeys. fisher price toys are more practical.
