@deevey, do you think you could do a quick mockup diagram to make that idea a little clearer?

Thats roughly layout wise what I was thinking ... a micro launchpad perhaps on the grid area though seeing as its novation

Looks a lot like the xone:1d.
There are plenty of 1 deck controllers out there but there's almost nothing for mixer only controllers. Sigh

That's a good point MPJ, people have been asking for something like that for ages. I remember that Kontrol M1 concept thread that was around a while back.
Matt, the guy who's head of hardware, mentioned that they were interested in the modular approach while also trying to avoid using hubs, maybe (this is my inference) some kind of daisy chain system like the dicers use but more complex to allow for personalised combinations?
He also mentioned that they were interested in creating more launchpad like devices that are midi class compliant instead of having to be run via automap and complex drivers.
He also hinted that NI would be announcing an S2 at some point (though whether he actually knew something or was just suggesting the possibility was hard to tell). Maybe I really should have pretended to work for DJTT and they would have opened up more

Stop Complaining :PThere are plenty of 1 deck controllers out there but there's almost nothing for mixer only controllers. Sigh
Can I have a few small buttons under each line fader plz? + maybe an additional knob for 4 band EQ or a filter? + vu meters? + 6 and 8 channel versions right + those two knobs at the bottom are encoders, right?

Will this do ya ?
A Moduler APC with EQ's per channel would be the Sh1t
Yeah pretty much. I'd like to see an APC40 sorta thing that's bus powered, had a play button per channel + a scene selection encoder instead of the clip grid and EQ + filter knobs (plus a few additional buttons and knobs) in place of the clip grid. VU meters would be nice but there are space issues.

Here's the M1 mockup thread, it come up with some cool ideas.

IMO there's definitely space in the Market for a small format 2 (possibly also 4) channel midi only mixer that's better than the x-session.
