    Default Victorian Bushfires

I thought I would just let the DJTT Community know about the horrific disaster that is going on down here in Australia at the moment. I'm sure the other Australian members are well informed.

Over the last couple of days bushfires have ravaged the state of Victoria, totally devastating two towns.

The death toll is now up to 131 and continues to rise.

131 people dead, 750 homes destroyed in worst bushfires in Australia's history

My condolences go out to all effected.

It should also be noted that the fire was started by arsonists too, such a horrible thing to do I hope whoever done it gets caught and gets whats comming to them. Id hate to think of what the toll on wildlife has been - we can be such a horrible species sometimes.

Yea, It's pretty devastating what's happening over across the ditch at the moment. Hope justice is dealt to arsonist who caused it if that is indeed the case.

all my condolences go out to anyone that has been affected by what has been dubbed "the worst disaster in Australian history". and i completely agree with Kevin Rudd (our Prime Minister) that the arsonists responsible should be charged with mass murder. it is a sad sad fact that humans are capable of such a devastating, thoughtless and reckless act.

I really feel for the victims of the Victoria fires. My folks almost lost their family home in Bridgetown (300km south of Perth) a few weeks back due to bush fires lit by suspected arsonists. That was scary enough.

Did my shopping at Coles today!
