Default Turntables; Battle or Standard Position?

So. Pretty simple, for those of you who use, or have used turntables, do you prefer them in the battle or standard position? And why?

I'm personally tossed on this right now. I have friends who use them in both styles, and I have no idea which I should go for, since I'm planning on buying a coffin and keeping them in there.

I was never a turntablist. And I never got used to not hitting the tonearm when I was adjusting pitch…so I never really tried battle style after I bought a table big enough to hold everything regular…which was about 2 days after I bought my first set of tables.

Generally speaking battle for scratching and standard for mixing as standard allows slightly easier reach of the pitch fader. Another pro of battle though is that it takes up less space horizontally and if you're tight on space that can help.

Battle style else the tone arm just gets in the way

(and yes I have twatted the tone arm on a deck that was playing when someone else had set the system up in the 'standard' fashion ...)

When I first got my TTs the table I was using didn't have room for them in standard posish so I just got used to BM.

    I learnt with Standard position.
    Then changed to Battle.

Now im a Traktor DVS DJ i only use Battle cus adjusting the pitch on the TTs is not necessary anymore.

really ... so you use turntables but you never touch the pitch control? Is there any actual point using turntables in this instance?
