So, there is a new Korg NanoPAD out, and it has 16 buttons and a nice XY pad.
May I be crazy, but those buttons on top could be effects presets and the xy pad would be whatever. You guys think this would make a nice midifighter clone?

i heard the pads on these suck.. and that the build quality is not up to par to its competition (Akai LPD8). plus, the pads aren't backlit..
idk... i've seen Korg PadKontrol's go for like $80 and those are pretty good.
Hardware: Akai Max49, Maschine, Equator D5 monitors, Saffire Pro 14
Software: Logic, Maschine
My Neighbors Listen to House Music.. Because They Have To.
the smaller buttons on top only change pages and what-not, can't be midi assignable.. SOMEONE CORRECT ME if I'm wrong..
In theory though, yeah it would work as a MF

thats why wer are replacing the buttons and turning into a MF
I would think so, though the midi fighter does have some functionality built in that would be kind of hard to duplicate with that (thinking 4 banks mode) without custom firmware.
You could build something like this
The arcade button above the x/y pad could be used to change scene / bank with led feedback. You could add some led's for the bank of 16 buttons too but they would only be momentary.
If you can map the extra buttons at the top of the Nanopad then you could you could spice things up even more.
I would love to build one of these myself
Thanks.
Everything in the drawing is to scale (sanwa OBSF-24 and 3mm led )so let me know when you're ready to start and I will send you the files
