Default ni audio 2 or audio kontrol 1

I'm having a hard time choosing between these two soundcards. I know they are both really good and the quality of sound is awesome too. I have equipment to produce music and all I need now are studio monitors and a soundcard. I'm not going to be recording any guitars or anything that I need to plug into the audio interface. I just need something that is going to improve my sound quality and maximize the monitors potential. With that being said...what are your opinions?

    Thanks!
    Andrew

I didn't think it was that old...I think it was replaced by the audio 6

Personally I'd go for the audio 2. You claim not to need inputs so the the only real difference is a few midi buttons and midi in/out. Doesn't really seem worth doubling the price to me.

Audio Kontrol 1 = balanced 1/4" jack outputs plus line/mic inputs.

Audio 2 is not the same. Unbalance RCA outs to go into a mixer. Will not be able to run powered monitors direct from audio 2... I don't think.

The updated sc of AK1 is the Komplete Audio 6.

If you want to produce and use it for digital DJing but don't want to use DVS then this is the nuts IMO. Balanced 1/4" and unblanced RCA cables.

Midi inouts too. Lot of room to grow as a producer with this souncard.

Doesn't fit the task at hand though. As cool as those features are he has no need for them, it'd be a waste of money.

    Like the audio 8

I'd go with the audio k1 for the balanced outs, midi i/o and extra imputs ( you never know when you will need them till you do)

I think the balanced outs are more than enough in a studio environment.

Well you can't run studio monitors off an Audio 2 so that defo doesn't fit the task in hand.

AK1 or Komplete Audio 6 is the way to go.

An Audio 2 is good for internal mode digital djing... and it does that perfectly but that's where it ends.

It's not a studio soundcard. No analogue balanced outs.

Personally I wouldn't go for either but in this case I just don't feel the kontrol is worth the money.
