Default Modding an old Hori Arcade Fighting Stick for effects!

Hey all. There's been a lot of posts on the frontpage on different controller mods, which finally got me to write this post. I used to play a lot of Street Fighter 4 with arcade fighting stick. I started off small with one of Hori's cheap models, simply called "Hori Arcade Fighting Stick 3" (http://sdtekken.com/tech-area/arcade-sticks/ps3-fs3/). It's pretty much just a basic USB fighting stick as you can tell by the pictures. I have experience with modding and soldering, but I've never worked with midi controllers, hopefully DJTT will be able to help.

I'm inspired by the midifighter, which is awesome but too expensive (I don't live in the US, customs rapes my wallet). I want to do a similar effects mapping on the arcade buttons (2 last rows of buttons http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/att...9&d=1304111907).

I not sure what to use the stick for. My current ideas are:
Browsing (Would free up 5 extra buttons on my VCI-100SE)
Switching between different effect presets (left for effect preset #1, down for #2 etc.)
Volume control so that I can pretty much keep the VCI-100SE in Fader FX mode

So that's pretty much my concept. Now I just need some help on finding the right electronics to put inside the stick? I've tried to use software (http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2862), but there's lot of dead links, and Rejoice, VMIDIJOY and Mjoy doesn't seem to work ?

Here's the error that I get from mjoy (I've tried to run it as admin, in windows xp mode).

I hope to keep this thread updated as I progress through the process.

    I'm using Windows 7 64-bit
