Sound card question?
I own an s4 which has a quality of a NI audio 6 correct?
I plan to purchase the NI audio 10 because of the number of inputs etc and someone had told me that It's louder and punchier than the card that's in my s4 is this correct? and that it it will put out a better sound quality
If someone has an answer for me I would really appreciate it.

The chance of anyone noticing any difference in sound quality, if there even is one, is slim to none.

The output from the s4 sound card is quieter than normal NI sound cards

FEP is right. Tommie's statement is also probably true, but it has little to nothing to do with sound quality. I mean…if a card's so quiet that there's no separation between the signal and the noise flor, that's a problem. But that hasn't actually happened in a while.
What do you want the new sound card for? Just more IO? What are you going to use it for?

Might look at some production cards instead of an A10 to get balanced I/O's if your wanting to hook up that kind of stuff.

Thanks for the quick info fellas
Well I have a faulty mic input on my s4 ,so reason one
Also I put together events here in my town and I figured I could have all the djs hook up to the card for seamless transitions between djs
and I guess yeah louder music
But I mean My budget is around 500 right now do you guys have any recommendations on a better sound card? or any suggestions for me

Routing Audio from multiple DJs through 1 version of Traktor is a pain in the ass. I'd say get an external mixer if that's what you want to do. And if you want louder music it's not a louder sound card you want, it's a bigger PA.

You are still going to have to put it in THRU mode to transition and replug the USB to a different machine, so no benefit in having more I/Os there.
edit: FEP beat me to it.
