if you can cancel the order and order just the MPK Mini, I would strongly advise you to do so - I'm installing Win7 purely to resolve this issue
I'm not sure that would resolve the issue, good luck!

Default What about the build quality?

    Hey guys

Thank you for this very interesting topic. I have bought a KORG nanoKEY2 and nanoKONTROL2, and while being happy with the nanoKONTROL2, the nanoKEY2 just doesn't fit my needs because the keys aren't "natural" enough, and as a piano player I seem to have high demands.

So now I am thinking about getting an LPK25 or MPK Mini, I just have to consider more thoroughly whether I need the extra knobs (because there are already many of them on the nanoKONTROL2) and the especially the pads (of which I haven't any in my equipment) for producing music (which I'm just learning now).

But somewhere on Amazon I read a user review that the quality of the MPK Mini is NOT as good as of the LPK25, especially the dynamics of the keyboard which seems to be much better in the LPK25. Can anybody confirm this? I don't want to buy the MPK Mini just to find out that the main reason for buying such a device (a good keyboard) is worse than the LPK25 ones.

    Thanks a lot for help
    Josh

Do you find that the pads are the same? I read somewhere that the pads on the MPK Mini are not as stiff and overall not nearly as good as on the LPD8 (which seems sort of ridiculous). Since you own all of those, would you say the top half of the Mini is EXACTLY the same as the LPD8?

I am considering the Mini as it's only $10 more than the lpd8 right now. I'm also looking into the Korg Mini keyboard (32 key or 37 key) and the LPD8 as an option.

    Thanks!

I would say that they're all the same... I think the PCB's are identical so there's no reason why the pads should be less/more stiff. I'd go for the Mini as it's nice to have the piano built in (and less likely to have XP-driver issues in my experience)
