Default Using 1 .tsi for two midi controllers. Bad idea?

I want to map my APC40 and Hercules RMX to use in Traktor. Still planning it out, but I'm thinking about using some buttons on my RMX to control modifiers that would change things on the APC40. The only way I know how to do this is to map both controllers under the same .tsi file. Is it a bad Idea to use the same TSI? Or is there a way to control modifiers between the controllers .tsi files?

    Thanks

Global modifiers is something that has been requested in the past, as far as i know the only way to do it currently is exactly as you said, with the controllers assigned to all ports.

To be quite honest I had a whole myriad of problems with LED feedback etc when I'd just bought my first controller because I had it assigned to all ports, and that was with ONE controller. It might work, but I wouldn't be too hopeful and it's a lot of mapping to do.

You don't want to do that with the APC, it uses commands across 9 MIDI channels which can't be modified. The risk of having a MIDI overlap is quite high.

eek. :/ I'm on vacation right now, that's something I need to check when I get home. Don't want to start mapping and realize it won't work. :/

    Thanks.

hmm. I know Traktor has more than 9 midi channels. I can easily stick my RMX on the 10th one or something. Ideas...

Can you change the midi channel of the RMX? Something tells me no...

Honestly mate, I think this project is best abandoned. But if you go for it, then good luck...

In the control panel, you can select whatever midi channel you want.

Worst case I use 2 separate .tsi files. I'm gonna try it.

Assing the remix to ch10 and you should be safe to map it all in one page
