Yes. Sounded extremely distorted, messed about with the gain and such, but no go.
This is using a PC FWIW. I don't know if my MIC is the same as a Mac's line in, but that is the only option I have.

The line in on most laptops (windows laptops at least) usually sounds like arse - various amounts of hiss and even blitter noise if you're unlucky.
If it sounds WAY distorted though, check in windows's recording devices setup - make sure you don't have the microphone boost enabled and/or post processing/enhancements running. That usually helps.
Thinking I should just dish out for the Audio6 and get some inputs...
Worth the money just to be able to record?
Just trade up to a DB4
If you don't absolutely need to record in Traktor you can get a handheld digital recorder like this [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Tascam-DR-03-Portable-Handheld-Recorder/dp/B0044FNCY8"]Amazon.com: Tascam DR-03 Portable Handheld Recorder: Musical Instruments@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41dU9dbu5OL.@@AMEPARAM@@41dU9dbu5OL[/ame]
It's got a line in so you can just run into it and record.
13" MB OSX 10.6.1, 15.4" Retina MBPRO - TP2 , VCI 100 SE, NI AUDIO 4, 2 * CDJ 900, CDJ 850, CDJ 1000 MK3, HDJ 2000, HD25 addidas special, TMA-1, MACHINE,DJM 800, MF, X1, XONE DB4,NEAR 05 ESI STUDIO MONITORS, KRK VXT4*2, ROKIT 6*2, CRANE laptop stand, K2 A&H.
I think being able to record is my main concern right now. I was so into getting new gear and such, but then after trying for so long to record externally, realized I couldn't.
What good is mixing and then not allowing anyone to hear, you know?
