I like copious amounts of bass in my headphones. I'll probably get made fun of for this, but I use V-MODA Crossfade LP's.
One can use any headphones they want to as long as you understand how what you hear in your headphones translates to the dance floor. It's just a much easier process with headphones that give you a flat/transparent response.

i use hd25s I like them, they have good isolation. I look for isolation, sound quality, and durability.
HDJ 2ks ain't precisely balanced. Sure they are better than a pair of Beats but still.

Not flaming, I own them
for me they must be:
lightweight because i regularly play for 4 hours + at a time
good at isolation
excellent for accurate sound
