Default Anyone get the Traktor s4 scratch update?

Anyone get the Traktor s4 scratch update? How do you like it? It seems to me that it looks to wide. Im just trying to learn the s4 by itself. If so, how do you like it? For some reason I'm confused. When I bought the Traktor s4 it came with the version 1 software. Apparetly NI, said it should have came with the Traktor 2 software.

So I downloaded the Traktor Pro 2 2.0.3 demo. All works well with the S4. Now I just got the scratch upgrade kit. Inside theirs a "Traktor Scracth Pro 2" disk. Is this the original installation disk or an update patch to use turntables with the S4. I was afraid it would just reinstall over the 2.03 version that's working. My last question is when gigging with the S4 what compliments it? Maybe the X1? Im trying to find this fighter thing people are talking about. Thanks for any help.

You just need to enter the serial number in Service Center and it will turn your installation of T2 to TS2 If you don't have turntables or CDJ's and you don;t plan on getting them then there's no use in having Scratch. Since the only added functionality is the ability to use timecode records or CD's.

You are the man p. Did the serial thing and everything works great. Why have the s4 and x1 at the same time? What benefits having the s4 and x1 together? What you get the x1 or midifighter first? Just curious.... thx

The X1 is needed for full time decks C&D, without shifting the deck layers. It gives great control over both sample deck and track deck mode.

The Midi Fighter is usually used by people for Instant FX (Instant Gratification mapping). With a push of a button, the controller triggers certain effects with predefined parameters, which usually sound great. It can also be used for many other controls, like for example Cue point juggling.

The X1 is definitely a great addition for 4 decks mode (almost a must for 4 decks). The MF has very responsive & quick buttons and that makes it great fun & pleasure to use.

I got my X1 at the same time I got my S4. Which one you should get though depends on how you choose to mix.
