I've got a DJM400, which I've had for about 8 yrs. Started out with 1200s, then got traktor and the X1 A2DJ setup i mentioned. I do like mixing on the S4, I'm just not convinced by the build quality, plus the size is a bitch like I said.

I'm starting to think that CDJs and TSP might be a nice setup, but I'll be fucked if im paying $500 or whatever it is they're asking for it on top of a pair of CDJs.

Hmmm, what to do...

have you looked into Denon's SC2000s..
Very solid, awesome jogs and pitch.
If you want a cdj feel but still want to use traktor these things are the way to go!

I did look at that actually and nearly bought it instead of the X1. Have you got one? I cant get help feeling that switching between decks on one unit would lead to a disaster at some point...

yep.. I love it.. I was planning on eventually getting two.. just for the reason you gave.. BUT now I'm so use to the pages and how it functions that I only need 1.. I've been getting into 3-4 deck mixing and haven't had any issues.
I'm adding a MF classic but thats just more for experimenting and opening new ideas.
Also the sc2000 has 4 banks with 2 pages of every control you see.. so 8 pages. You can set the pitch fader so that it will read once you set it back to the place you left it.. which is great for switching between decks.

Its one solid controller..

That does sound pretty damn good. I think I'd need to give it a good session to know if it was do-able for me though.
I think I'll prob get back into my X1 for the time being and see if I start missing anything.

On a side note, I just tried to clean my iphone because there was loads of dust in the case and now the home button doesnt work! :/
