Default Vegas, tips and tricks please? :)

Hitting Vegas in November, traveling from Ireland, been there before for a few days, but was with my family so couldn't really party that much!

Is there any actual techno scene in Vegas? I know some of the bigger clubs in the hotels book the likes of Aoki, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris and the likes, but i'd like to check out some smaller clubs, with dance music running for the duration.

Went to see Steve Aoki @ Blush last year while i was there, and for the 4 hours before steve came on, the music wasn't really to my liking, it was lounge music....

Also, anyone know any promoters in the area i could get in touch with?

Yes. I was asking was there a techno scene, as in my experience the bigger clubs only book the big names, in progressive house, electro house, pop genre's!

I'd like some info on the smaller gritty clubs, with local guys playing.

Let's face it, some of the smaller guys are better than the big dudes!

It's possible, you're going to the desert after all. It will probably be warm during the day and cold at night. I don't think small local clubs really exist in Vegas and if they do you'd probably want to avoid them. If you stray off the strip you're in pimps, ho's, and hobo's land then nothing but suburbs for miles. But maybe someone who goes to college out there will chime in with some tips.

Yeah I've been told not to stray too far from the strip.

Might have to make do with some of the bigger clubs I guess.

You guys have Vegas all wrong - the strip is what you should avoid. Pick up a copy of City Life and see what's happening at the local clubs. If you plan to stay on the strip, expect a lot of over commercialized tourist nonsense. There are some good clubs on the strip too but expect to spend a lot of money to get in any place you've heard of the DJs.
