Creative makes consumer soundcard - id stick right away from them and go for something designed for your purpose. Like the DJ/IO or a Presonus firebox.

    no no no.

I vote no on consumer grade sound cards unless you're a gamer looking for some "wicked" gaming experience.

For DJs buy a real soundcard.

Um... the Emu 0202 is a professional grade soundcard. Creative's Emu products are really good. I started with the 1820M and it did a lot of really good stuff.

The 0202 is just like a lot of other professional grade sound cards.

    Why yes, yes it is.

Can you guess where I plug in the subwoofer?

yes this is a professional grade sound card. I used to have the 0404

You can *not* cue with headphones with this card though!

They are cheeky with their nomenclature:

0202 usb is supposed to be: "two ins two outs"

but it's just the Left and Right channels of a stereo out that make it 2! So it's only one stereo out. with a headphone on front with same signal.

so....you'd think that the 0404 usb would be ok? NOPE

4 outs for e-mu means - two channels of 1 stereo output, and then the two channels of stereo from an SPIDF digital out. which you obviously can't monitor with.

So not good for dj's, good for home recording.
