I'd like to see a rotary knob option for the S4. I'd sell my DN-X1600 if NI offered that.

If the S4 had any quality I would definitely sell my x1600 and pick up a midi implimented S4..
BUT no way am I going to make that big of a downgrade in quality


Edit: i'm not sure if any software already has this..
but. I'm gonna guess that eventually people will be setting cues to trigger cues on other tracks..
so all people who preplan their sets will just have to worry about eqs and effects

No, meaning same controller except with rotary channel faders like the Rane 2016S

When it comes to the componenets I think the S4, is a quality piece of equipment. The knobs faders and buttons are top notch. Which are the most important parts. The only thing IMO that needs improvement are the jogs and the glossy surface of the mixer section.

IMO, the faders are absolutely terrible, the buttons feel quite cheap, and the platter feels like its a broken CDJ.

I have actually seen and use the twitch in person. I was at guitar center and a novation representative came by to talk to the store clerks and he let me mess with it. pretty sick. it comes with beatmatching and beat slicing/gridding features. totally a remix machine imo. the touch strips on each deck is basically the "jog wheels". I wouldnt use it to mix however, maybe js remix and do cool stuff with effects. he almost got me to buy it actually, sales people are good like that. I would definately recommend twitch for peeps who really wanna remix on the fly cause that control is phenomenal at doing that same thing.
