Default traktor likes to destroy tunes?

ok, maybe not destroy... but alot of tracks are really bad quality when played through the software? i went back and checked, and they sound fine in wmp?
    mainly very bassy tracks like...

    1-up by submerse!

its sounds dodgier than it does on the website, but on wmp it sounds crystal!

does anyone get why? thank you

Do you use auto gain & the limiter? I find these will sometimes overdrive & remove the dynamics from a particularly loud tune.

Turn limiter off, and set software master output to -5db.

im havin so many issues with tsp2... i beatgrid on my laptop, without the timecode connected. half the time it doesnt give me audio. i have to keep restarting the proggramme... the beatsyncing is shot to bits, and doesnt sound tight at all...

and now i cant figure out why it wont locate a tsi i downloaded. its a mapping for the keyboard so i can casually mix wherever lol. its just frustrating!

What does this do? I noramlly just turn the gains down so the s4 isnt getting into the red, is this correct

It gives you headroom... you should have some room to increase individual channel gains a bit without clipping the software output. It will sound smoother and tighter on bass-heavy tracks as well.
