    Default What Amp Suits Best

    Hi,have the choice of two amps for the speakers with the spec being 250w@8ohms

    Choices are A NEW QSC GX 3 Amplifier - 2x 425W/4ohm, 2x 300W/8ohm, XLR, RCA and 1/4" jack inputs, Speakon combo (1/4" jack thomann and Speakon) and binding post outputs.

    OR

    I can buy a SECOND HAND Peavey PV 2600 Power Amp is a 2u rackmount unit. 2 x 900W RMS @ 4 ohms, 540W RMS @ 8 ohms, or 1800W RMS bridged mono. XLR, 1/4" and barrier strip inputs with DDT compression system, binding post and Speakon output connectors.

    What,s best for me in the long run?Bought are the same price

    If you can afford it, I would get a crown xti. They have built in dsp with limiters, active crossovers, delay etc. to help you better tune and protect your speakers. You can run your tops and subs from one amp. Very versatile. It's always better to have more options than you need than to later find out that you don't have enough.
