    Default Best\High Quality RCA Jacks.

So.....as some of you know, I have split my rig up and now have a DVS only system and a Digital Mixing one.

Mixing Externally now on the DVS, I needed more RCA's.

Hating the RCA's you buy in the shops etc and only having bad results (Specially for DVS and External Mixing) I decided to make up a few pairs for myself.

I have one pair I had made up about 8 years ago and they are as solid as the day I bought em. Mic Flex cable and solid ends.

So I needed to do the same again.

I ended up finding some REALLY KILLER RCA Jacks.

They are called AMPHENOL....I know, sounds like some kind of chemist drugs...

    http://www.amphenolaudio.com/Amphenol_RCA.html

I got the ones at the top of the list.

I used to have issues with my Audio 4's inputs for DVS and could never really get it correct. I thought I had damaged my sound card!

However, with these new cables....its all sorted!
    STOKED!

So, out of interest and maybe it will help others on this forum, lets hear which you think are great and which you currently use.

I have been told that Neutrik are the best, but they also seem to be the most expensive.

Honestly I believe you could use a wire coat hanger and some solder and no one would ever be able to hear the difference. Just make sure it's not damaged and you're fine.

Mmm....well...I am talking about whether they damage your gear.

    Cheap RCA's just break....

The better ones I tried almost destroyed my gear by being too tight etc.

    These....are the SHIT....like butter!

    And no more issues.

But use your wire hanger.....if it ain;t broke.....don;t fix it

Well, like most said, it's more a work or not thing. Problem is with the connector tips and durability generally on the cheap ones.

i use the premium rca cables from monoprice. what i like about them is that they are pretty tick and are gold plated they are also the lowest price i have seen anywhere for any type of rca. only problem is that they grip a little too tight and can sometimes be hard to pull off... this may also be a good thing in case of accidents.

i got them for £10 for the pair and havent had any issues due to rca since,

Cheap cables may be prone to shitty grounding. Since we're talking DVS you may hear this should you route real vinyl through traktor. I'm happy I have one good rca pair to rip my records with :P But other than that since my kit doesn't move around the cheapo cables I got when I started mixing externally are still just fine - I'd go with neutrik plugs for DIY.
