    Default CDJs and Traktor Issues.

So I've setup my Audio 6 just fine. The trouble I'm having is when I hit cue or play on my cdj the platter starts spinning and is responsive to looping and cueing in cd mode but does not have any control over the song it's self. What do i do to change this?

Do you hear sound? Or do you just see platter move without any sound?

A few things come to mind without knowing answer to above question:
    1. make sure you have the traktor deck set to scratch control (as opposed to internal playback) and make sure you have relative or absolute control selected.

    2. Assuming you have scratch control setup, do you see the timecode platter visual? (The box on your traktor deck with the moving circles). Try to calibrate it. What does it look like (perfect circles, nothing at all, f'ed up lines, etc)?

    3. Is your Traktor settings routings setup correctly? I believe you confirmed you have this setup right.

    4. What kind of mixer (and which cdj model) do you have? I think some mixers have a selector that you need to choose your input properly to get timecode to work. But maybe I'm thinking of mixers with sound cards..

CDJ timecode is pretty plug-n-play if you got your sound card working + the routing sorted out right. I use cdj just for timecode (no midi, etc) and it works fine. The one issue which I think everybody has though is that your cdj CUE button doesnt react perfectly in time with traktor. In other words, if you cue at the point 1:00 in a track, traktor will start playing at 1:02 or something like that. I believe Traktor and Pioneer point the finger at each other as to who's problem that is. I think its Traktor because I've also seen it happen with Denon cd players.

I have used CDJ for midi / HID control and it works fine for me (people complain about the HID control tho but I didnt see a problem during my short tests) but for some reason I dont use it.. Maybe someday I'll integrate towards it.

Apparently the CUE button problem for cdj I mentioned has been 'improved' in latest traktor update 2.1.1 but I havent updated yet as I usually dont do upgrades during first few days and I've seen a ton of chatter about alot of bugs, unstable behavior. Anybody confirm how effective the improvement is?

did the upgrade.. no problems after 20 mins of use..

As for the cdj cue issue - i swore the first thing I cue'd up was working right.. but by the time i got to my 2nd track, it was back to the usual cue button issue that I've always had unfortunately. tried both abs + rel mode and no luck - oh well.. traktor cuepoints are what I usually use and one could always midi map the cue button on cdj to traktor's cue button and I can't see why that wouldnt work.

Anyways, Mike - let me know if any of the above solves the prob ur having with ur cdjs.
