They were having serious routing issues at one point. There are several sysadmins and computer geeks on DJF VIP, and we've discussed it. Basically…if it's the same issue, they have to wait for someone else to solve it because there's nothing wrong with the DJF server or db…it's just that nothing can get to it because the route to their IP address that DNS servers respond with points into a nowhere land of carpet pixies and snuff, and it takes a while for the hosting company to realize they screwed up again, fix the issue, and have it propagate through all the internet routers that it needs to go to before people can see it again.

There was a short downtime a little while ago when they got fed up and migrated everything to a new host, which was supposed to fix the issues. Apparently it didn't work.

IHNFC what caused this crash, but it's really annoying.

It's not a money issue, and AFAIK, it's not the DJF admins' fault. Someone working for the hosting company has to have screwed up badly. It wouldn't surprise me too much if they decided to migrate to another company while the site was down anyway after breaking contract with the new company.

They're more frustrated than any of the users are, I assure you. I'm pretty sure that the guys that run it don't have jobs outside of DJF.

Well said Mostapha, It gets pretty touchy once the site is back up and running because all the n00bs that don't search why it goes down post a million threads about it aiming it at the admins when its totally out of their control.
