I think it might be time for me to ditch my NI Kontrollers and get back to my Xonetacular heritage.

I wonder how much a DB4 and two K2s will set me back. This thing look perfect.

Twin DSP FX Engines

:: Massive FX Library
XoneB2 has more than 50 FX presets divided into
5 FX types: Delays/loopers, Reverbs, Resonance,
M odulation and Damage. These are studio grade FX
– in fact several legendary producers already use the
DB range FX in their recordings. There are plans to
continue building the FX library in future firmware
updates.

The Expression and W et / Dry controls give intuitive,
hands-on control for everything from subtle FX
washes to total transformation.

For those who want to drill down further, individual FX

Features

Input Matrix
Each of DB2’s four input channels has a full input matrix
that can select from four analogue (Line or RIAA), four
USB, or two digital sources, allowing for a wide variety of
audio sources to be connected simultaneously. The same
source can also be selected on multiple channels.

Trimodal EQ
XoneB2 adopts the fresh approach to creative equalisation
introduced on DB4. The EQs can be used in three different
modes - standard asymmetric EQ (+6/-25dB),
total Kill (+6dB/OFF with a 24dB/octave slope), or
High-Pass/Low-Pass filter with adjustable resonance.

Mic/Line Input
With 2 band EQ, gain, cue and mix level and with full
access to FX.

High Visibility OLED Display
Tested for maximum clarity whether playing on a sundrenched
Balearic beach or in a Berlin basement, the
high contrast display shows FX selection, BPM and
menu setup functions.

Lightweight chassis
Made for life on the road, XoneB2 is robust enough
for touring, and its lightweight aluminium chassis helps
ease the arm-ache.

Integral soundcard
The built-in, multi-channel USB2 soundcard allows replay
and recording from computer-based audio software for
4 stereo sends and 4 stereo returns.

MIDI control
All controls (except M ic and Phones level) send MIDI data.
The mixer can double up as a MIDI controller for DJ
software such as Traktor Pro and Ableton via the MIDI
shift button, which allows the FX selection controls to
send MIDI data without changing the mixer settings.

X:LINK
XoneB2 can integrate smoothly with the new Xone:K2
software controller via Allen & Heath’s proprietary X:LINK protocol.

Price?

Unknown right now. That is the big thing. If it can be had for $1700 or less it is a good option. Any more than that I would just save to get a DB4 for $2400. I'm guessing it will compete directly with the DJM-900 nexus.

It is definitely the Xone: 42 equivalent to the 92.

It even reminds me of the 42 with the red rings around the EQs. It definitely has a 'stripped down' look to it. If it is priced how I think it will be priced I think the DB4 has the value edge by getting full channel LEDs and just a more complete interface if that makes any sense. You can tell they stripped features away just so it wouldn't compete with the DB4 market- I mean there is no other reason they would make the meters so short.

This will be a good thing for people who want something more simplified but I personally like the whole spaceship cockpit thing.

the teaser had me all hyped for this thing... now after seeing it im glad i got my 900 on order... not sure why, just feel like theres alot of unused space on the channel sections of the mixer.

Agreed there, and as a DB4 owner I'm glad they did (though those meters really look silly). Either way, hope this is priced as reasonably as the 42 is to the 92 to get more people into the DB features.

Hmmm, if anything it just makes me want to save for a DB4 more, let's just hope they both get scratch certified. It comes down to your philosophy of use, the db2 will be perfect for some but for me it is lacking.

How do you switch EQ modes on the DB2? The ISO/EQ/Filter switch is missing on the DB2, so I guess it's in software? Much less accessible then. Also is there a looper included? I assume the "Time" knob under the effects window would be it but it's not clear what that is here. And yeah I wanna know price too....

Personally I want this! Don't see what's wrong with this. Read somewhere that the price will be £ 999! Beside the 4 FX sections (now 2), a loop section (maybe integrated in the FX section like djproben said?) and a physical switch for the different types of EQ I can't see much difference... Quality should be the same as the DB4 and the EQ can serve as a filter. Well, that's the only thing that ignores me, no dual filters!

But I think that the filters on the bottom of the FX sections should serve well, because A&H has the best filters .

For more than half of the price it is a very good price/quality-comparison!!!

Definitely should be mine, because the DB4 is a little bit overpriced for a student without a job... haha!
