Ripping vinyl using the S4's inputs??

Yes. You can just record it in Traktor

don't want to record in traktor. I would like to use it with the likes of sound forge etc ... still. Will sound forge see the sound card in the S4 as a useable sound card?

I think what photjojo means is, use the S4 to record a raw .wav file of the tack you want. Then bugger about with the wav file in whatever software package your heart desires ...

In answer to your question yes, the S4 will be recognised as a regular sound card.
