    Default Great Opening Songs?

To play early out in the night? Also should play out first couple of songs entirely then mix almost or at the end?

If you're looking for a dramatic Dubstep opener check out Angst by Nero. That would probably only work if you were headlining though.

Indie Dance is great to play early on, it has a nice groove and is slowish (120-126bpm). Check out Madeon, he makes great French House/Indie dance.

Some Deep House is always good to start with. Atm I'm really digging Maya Jane Coles and Solomun. Check out some other stuff on their labels.

Can't really recommend any great opening electro house, most of the time it's too energetic to play early on.

I like to sometimes "blast" my way in. With a season-old hit that everyone recognises, maybe with a bit of a special remix, which continues with something that rides the first one with fair amount of energy but no massive sounds. Then you can put in a break and start building up a new climax.

Forgot an example: Allstars -Thriller (Rokcity and Filthy Rich intro bootleg), corpse shell mix might work as well.

While I agree with most of what was posted, listen to tunes for yourself and decide what is great.
No one here or anywhere else can truly help you because no one knows you mixing style, ability or what track you will play next. You open with a great song, and then play Lady Gaga, all your hard work went to shit...

Spend a few hours on Beatport crate digging.

mr pink - love and affection, fu**ing love opening with that tune, but also agree with shm - leave the world behind , like any song at any point in the night, it completely depends what sort of crowd you have in , but i do love going in with some classics.
