How many on here DON'T play EDM/electronica

Am I the only person who plays 60's soul, rhythm & blues, hammond jazz with the help of a DVS system?

I have a number of set-ups for different types of gigs, I've played the above music for over 25 years. Much of the vinyl is so rare that even if I could afford to replace one of them there's no way i could find a replacement any longer. (we are talking in excess of £1000 per 45)

So these days i often take a DVS system with me, so i don't have to take the most valuable 45's out with me.

When people see my set-up they instantly assume that i'll be playing house/dance styles but are surprised when the tunes start .

I dont just play one genre, I've also got a thing for soul though. Also play funk, disco, hip hop, reggae, rock, ska, etc...

I don't spin any genre... I spin good music... Doesn't matter what it is...

I do have two "house" residencies where i play EDM using every tool at my disposal, but i've recently started to use this kit for the soul nights. I was curious to see if anyone else made the crossover.

What i do like is the fact that I can take a track i love but too slow to get a dancefloor interested, I increase the tempo and keep the pitch correct. Something i could never do just using regular decks. This weekend I created a dancefloor monster by playing a well known ballad at +35% ... perfectly in tune ... so many people were asking about it ...
