The audio port on an iPhone is also a mic/line-in. It's at least mono, but it might be stereo as well…IDK…haven't seen software that uses it and haven't looked at that part of the SDK.
Can't you just record it on Traktor - put into itunes - convert to mp3 on itunes - then sync to iphone?
Or are you looking to actually use the iphone as a recording device?
I mean…the wired headset microphones have to work somehow…and there are credit card readers that use the audio jack as an input somehow.
So, it at least has a mono mic in, probably with a software preamp, and you have access to it with the SDK. But I'm not aware of any other software that actually uses it.
I'm pretty sure you can do what you want with the voice recorder app and the cable I linked above. That said the battery life on an iPhone would probably suck so much if you were trying to record into it for an entire set it wouldn't be worth it.
You can get digital recorders for pretty decent prices that were designed to do exactly what you want.
That's probably a better idea.
And the iPhone battery is actually pretty remarkable considering that it's a smart phone.
