    Default Vinyl to mp3

I'm one of the latest DJ's to go form analogue to digital. Which leaves me with the long task of converting my records to a digital format.

"What software or method is best?"

I can convert using a number of different methods, acid or audacity. But I heard on the old grape vine that bespoke software exists to convert records- like remove crackles, etc. Are these worth it? And if so, can you recommend me any? And info greatly received.

I've tried converting some in the passed, but just putting one record on and not mixing another one is rather difficult. But i need to be strong.

    Cheers peeps

I use soundforge, great program. Lots of tools for changing levels etc.

Leave the crackles in tho, it reminds you of the good lo' days.

Good idea - forgot about that program.

And, oh yes, can't forget about the good old days. Happy to forget I used to spend (on average) £5 a tune though . Will miss the record shopping experience though in an actual shop (rather that cyber space).

Do i sound old when I mention the words cyber space.

Right, off to blow the dust of my old 75's.
